H-L's Jury selected as Paul Walker Award recipient

The Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association (OHSBCA) has announced that Roger Jury of Hopewell-Loudon High School is the recipient of the 2025 Paul Walker Award. The Paul Walker Award is presented annually by the OHSBCA to an active coaching member of the association who has made significant contributions to high school basketball. The award is named in honor of the late Paul Walker, the longtime coach of Middletown High School. At the time of his retirement, he had the most wins as a boys basketball coach in Ohio High School Basketball history. "Roger has been the director of District 6 for the past several years and has been an active member of the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association," stated Joe Balogh, Executive Director of the OHSBCA. "He has been a willing volunteer for many of our events and is currently the director of our Top 20 individual and team stat awards. Roger's success as a coach and active membership in the OHSBCA make him a deserving recipient of the Paul Walker Award." Jury started his coaching career at Old Fort High School where he served as the coach for both the JV and freshman boys basketball teams for five years. From there, he accepted the head boys basketball position at Cardington-Lincoln High School. He had an overall record of 160-92 in 11 years at Cardington-Lincoln. Coach Jury spent the next nine years as the head boys basketball coach at Marion Harding High School where he had an overall record of 64-111. Since 2015, Jury has served as the head coach at H-L. His current record at Hopewell-Loudon is 139-78. In 28 years as a head coach, Jury has an overall record of 363-281. His teams have won seven league titles, nine sectional championships, two district titles, and one regional title. Coach Jury has won various league, district, and regional coaching awards throughout his career. He is a 35 year member of the OHSBCA and has served as treasurer, vice-president, and president/director over a period of 19 years at the district level. He is currently the Top 20 Awards Director for the OHSBCA. In addition to his coaching duties at H-L, he also serves as an English teacher for this district. He and his wife Jenni, live outside of Upper Sandusky and have two adult children, Jordyn and Ried. Coach Jury had the privilege of coaching both boys on their respective high school teams at Hopewell-Loudon. "Roger Jury is a long time successful head coach. Coach Jury has also been actively involved in the OHSBCA by serving as a district director throughout his years as a basketball coach.
