Heidelberg to dedicate new labyrinth; community invited

TIFFIN—Heidelberg University invites the community to the dedication ceremony of a new labyrinth on campus. The dedication will take place 2:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at the labyrinth, behind the Campus Center on Greenfield Street (near Parking Log F). The labyrinth serves as a new resource for Heidelberg and the local community to encourage meditation, prayer and wellness, according to the university. Labyrinths – a metaphor for life's journey – are an ancient tool that have been in use for more than 4,000 years. Heidelberg's labyrinth is modeled after the one on the floor of the Charters Cathedral in France. The project was conceived by Dr. DoHee Kim-Appel, professor of Graduate Counseling at Heidelberg, during COVID-19. In addition to the Heidelberg community, the public is invited to visit the labyrinth. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The labyrinth project was a joint venture funded by the Meshech Frost Trust, the White Family Charitable Fund of the Tiffin Community Foundation, the Donald D. Lynch Family Foundation, Heidelberg's Religious Life Fund, the Sisters of St. Francis, Drs. DoHee Kim-Appel and Jonathan Appel and Dr. Dawn Henry and Attorney Dean Henry.
