Montz to resign from TSEP

TIFFIN — Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership President and CEO Aaron Montz will resign effective Jan. 31, 2025, according to his resignation letter received by AT. In the letter, dated Dec. 4, Montz wrote that the decision to resign was "a personal decision" and that "the decision is solely (his)." He also stated he is committed to facilitating an effective transition for the "betterment of Tiffin and Seneca County." "It has been an honor and a privilege to lead this organization for nearly three years," he said in the letter. "During this time, we have achieved significant milestones, including ranking in the top 10% nationally for economic development projects while maintaining a strong and robust pipeline." Montz shared that after dedicating 18 years of service to the public sector, he believes it is time to transition "out of the role of community leader in Tiffin and Seneca County." "I will always remain a strong advocate for Tiffin and Seneca County," he said. "I have no doubt that the community will continue to flourish. I feel it is the right moment for me to step aside, allowing new leadership to guide the next chapter of growth while setting the direction for our city and county. He then expressed gratitude to TSEP's board of directors, staff, partners and community members. "I wish the organization and the community continued success and prosperity," he concluded. Montz took over as TSEP's president and CEO in July 2022 after serving for 10 years as mayor of the city of Tiffin. Prior to becoming mayor, he served on Tiffin's City Council. He began his career in public service in 2007 when he became a council member. He was elected as mayor in January 2012 at the age of 26, making him the youngest mayor in Tiffin's history.
