Mercy Health hospitals recognized

Mercy Health announced that two hospitals have been recognized with a 2024 Performance Leadership Award for excellence. Mercy Health – Willard Hospital was recognized with a Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Quality and Patient Perspective and Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital was recognized with a Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Outcomes. Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards honor top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes and/or Patient Perspective. Both hospitals received similar recognitions in 2023. "The teams at Tiffin and Willard continue to be recognized for providing the highest quality and most compassionate care to patients throughout the region. We are incredibly proud to be recognized by Chartis Center for Rural Health, as it confirms Mercy Health's commitment to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve," said Andrew Morgan, president, Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital and Mercy Health – Willard Hospital, in a release. The Performance Leadership Awards are based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, the industry's most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. INDEX data is relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations and state offices of rural health around the country to measure and monitor performance across several areas impacting hospital operations and finance. "The Performance Leadership Awards capture the commitment, diligence, and innovation with which America's rural hospitals approach the delivery of care within their communities," said Troy Brown, Network Consultant, The Chartis Center for Rural Health, in a release. "It's a tremendous honor to be able to recognize the efforts of this year's award winners and celebrate their achievement as part of National Rural Health Day." This is the second national recognition for Mercy Health – Willard Hospital, which was recently ranked number three among healthcare providers and insurers in Modern Healthcare's 2024 Best Places to Work award program.
