Republican Party meeting dates set

TIFFIN — The Seneca County Republican Party met for a special meeting Monday to discuss and approve their regular meeting dates for the upcoming calendar year 2025. The meeting began with a reading of the proposed list of 2025 meeting dates by Susan Platt, a member of the Republican Central Committee. Platt originally proposed the following dates: Jan. 28, April 22, July 24 and Oct. 28. Another central committee member Jim Ehrman raised concerns about the initially proposed date for one of their quarterly meetings, July 24, as it falls during the 2025 Seneca County Fair. Additionally, Erhman raised concerns over another part of Platt's motion that stated these four meetings would be the only regular meetings for 2025 and all other meetings would be considered special. According to the party's bylaws, a special meeting differs from a regular meeting in that the central committee may only discuss topics specifically announced in that meeting's agenda, which shall be discussed and/or acted upon at such meetings. Additionally, any special meeting of the central committee may be adjourned or suspended so that a meeting of the Executive Committee may occur when necessary. The regular quarterly meeting dates, all to be at 6 p.m., were approved as follows: Jan. 28, April 22, July 29, and Oct. 28. As it stands, all other meetings in 2025 are to be considered special meetings. No other business was discussed at the meeting.
