Realtors launch podcast

TIFFIN — A group of local realtors has opened the door to the world of podcasting. Bill Jones, Kari Steele, Sierra Steinmetz and Bryan Schube, of REMAX's Tiffin office, recently launched REUP (Real Estate Unlimited Podcast), a podcast about all things real estate with a focus on the local/northwest Ohio market. "We've talked about doing it for years," Jones said. "The entire team got together," he said, to plan and execute REUP, which began broadcasting approximately three months ago. The podcast is recorded at Model C Media of Tiffin, he said. The objective of the podcast, the team said, is to provide an additional resource for those in the community seeking guidance in the market and answers to real estate questions. However, while REUP is produced by REMAX realtors, Jones said the podcast is not exclusive to the REMAX brand. "It's not a REMAX podcast, he said. "It's a real estate podcast." REUP is released each Monday on YouTube and on a variety of social media and episodes vary in length from 15 minutes to an hour, the team said. "We are trying to provide original content," Steele said, as an additional resource to consumers who are seeking answers to real estate issues. In addition to the weekly discussion among Jones, Steele, Steinmetz and Schube, REUP welcomes guest speakers to the podcast to "add value" and build representation in the community, Steele said. Some notable guests have included Nicole Miller of State Farm Insurance in Tiffin, Dustin Cleveland of Seneca Foam & Encapsulation and Andrew Trusty of Andrew Trusty Insurance. Including guests in the podcast, the team said, provides a "different perspective" for viewers, with unique insight and expertise shared as the discussion unfolds. "We generate new ideas while talking," Steele said. In addition, Steinmetz said, the age diversity among the podcast team helps make REUP a relatable podcast for all listeners, regardless of their stage in life and activity in the market. "It's about staying relevant," Steele said. As REUP continues to learn its audience and build its presence in the podcast market, Jones said the team "would love more questions from the public" and to collaborate with more businesses and individuals in the area. That involvement, the team said, helps ensure content that strengthens REUP as a resource for the community. Jones said REUP currently has more than 65,000 views on YouTube and more on Instagram, Spotify, TikTok and other social media. Viewership has increased each week, he said, and episodes with an investment focus and foreclosure information have been "very intriguing" to listeners. In addition to more serious topics tackled by the team on REUP each week, Jones said the podcast also has pivoted to lighter topics and seasonal discussions since the podcast was launched. A Halloween episode featured the team dressed like Scooby Doo characters with a discussion about haunted houses, Jones said, and recent weeks have included holiday-related themes such as Holiday Nostalgia and Home for the Holidays.
