TIFFIN — Below are the monthly programs for the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center (FELC) for January and February: Science Days for Kids Ages: Winter Science - 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 17 and Jan. 20 (two sessions) at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. This camp will explore some of the fun science behind winter, snow, ice, and more. Light snacks will be provided, and scholarships are available. Parents, please drop off children between 7:30-7:50 a.m. To register, call 419-448-7485 or email hwatson@felctiffin.org at least one week prior to each Science Day. For ages 6-10 years old, with a registration fee of $60 per child. Wood Duck Nest Workshop - 10 a.m. Jan. 18 at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. In this workshop, Matt Vitullo will be discussing the biology of wood ducks and the importance of installing and maintaining wood duck boxes. Vitullo is an ODNR Wildlife Management Consultant for the Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area and for seven counties (including Seneca) in Northwestern Ohio. Following the workshop, attendees will help install three boxes in wetland areas on the Sisters of St. Francis property. Donations are welcome. To register, contact the FELC at 419-448-7485. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required. Science Days for Kids: Seneca County Over Two Centuries - 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. This month's camp will explore historical periods from various previous presidents, from George Washington to Teddy Roosevelt. Light snacks will be provided, and scholarships are available. For ages 6-10 years old, with a registration fee of $60 per child. Cooking with Homegrown Mushrooms - 10:00 a.m. Feb. 22 at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. Hannah Watson, Seeds of Hope Farm Manager, and Rob Malone, owner of the Turntable restaurant in downtown Tiffin, will present all of the different types of mushrooms that are growing at FELC and how to cook them. St. Francis Community Annual Mardi Gras Reverse Raffle - 6-9 p.m. Feb. 28 in the Elizabeth Schaefer Auditorium, 190 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. For ages 21+ only. A $50 ticket includes heavy appetizers for 1 person and one Reverse Raffle Number, one entry for Chance to Win $500 and Gift Card Tree Drawing or $30 ticket includes 1 Reverse Raffle Number (for those who can't attend or just want more numbers).
