Tiffin GameStop to close

TIFFIN — GameStop in Tiffin is closing its doors for the last time today. General manager Krysta Stonier spoke about her time with the company very fondly when the A-T recently spoke with her. Though she has only been with the company for about a year, the Tiffin GameStop location has been open for approximately 10 years. Stonier said she received a phone call notifying her of the closure Thursday afternoon. It was later announced on social media. The only reason she was given was that there simply was not enough foot traffic to keep the store open. "It's sad. Everything is going digital," Stonier said, lamenting the age of instant downloads and fast access to games. She later said she feels like she grew up in a Gamestop and currently owns 40-50 game consoles. After starting with the original NES game system, she was hooked from a very young age. For her, gaming is not a hobby, it's a lifestyle. Gone are the days of waiting hours in line to get a physical copy of a game or console, now one only has to go online and download. Stonier advised she also manages the GameStop location in Findlay and customers are not to worry. Any open pre-orders placed for the Tiffin location will automatically be transferred to the Fremont location. Final customers of the Tiffin GameStop will be offered $5 off any purchase of $25 or more, but this coupon will be transferable to the Findlay location. Tiffin GameStop is located at 2562 W.
