Upper man pleads not guilty to new charges

UPPER SANDUSKY — A new victim has stepped forward saying Scott Dickey, 50, of Upper Sandusky, allegedly sexually assaulted them. Dickey was first arrested in August of 2024 following a report of an assault at an Upper Sandusky business. A report from the Upper Sandusky police alleged Dickey had groped and raped a woman while she was providing him with massage therapy services during an appointment at a massage clinic. Charges of gross sexual imposition, two counts of abduction and rape were filed against him in September. Dickey was later indicted by a grand jury in October and waived his right to a speedy trial in December. Now a new victim has stepped forward also accusing Dickey of sexual assault with further charges of gross sexual imposition and assault. The new charges were filed with the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office in December. The Advertiser-Tribune made a formal public records request for the initial incident report but was told by Sheriff Todd Frey, County Prosecutor Eric Figlewicz and Detective Ed Gottfried that that report doesn't exist and the new claims were simply added to the already in-progress investigation. Figlewicz was able to say the new victim has made claims the incident occurred in March of 2024 while in a vehicle with Dickey but was not able to go more in-depth about the claims to protect both the identity of the victim and the integrity of the ongoing investigation. Dickey was arraigned on Jan. 9, 2025 in the Wyandot County Courthouse with Judge Douglas Rowland presiding. He pleaded not guilty. He now awaits full criminal trial proceedings.
