A Year in Review

As we ring in the New Year, staff members at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library begin the task of running reports and compiling statistics to track our progress throughout the past year. Of all the reports, my personal favorite highlights the top checked out titles of the year. Whether you missed one of the hot new releases or are looking for something to add to your to-be-read pile, the following lists will provide you with Seneca County's most-loved titles of 2024. When it comes to fiction, many of our patrons opted for historical reads and book club selections. The usual suspects, Steel and Patterson are also among the bunch: 1. The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket Finally, I'd like to take a moment to highlight our ever-popular book club, Let's Talk About It. Public Services Librarian, Anna, carefully reviews a wide selection of titles before choosing books she believes our patrons will enjoy. The great thing about our book discussion group is that, along with our annual Community Read program, Foundation Speaker program, and virtual author visits, we have had the opportunity to speak to three of the authors of books we've read this year! The group meets once a month for an hour-long discussion, and we are thrilled to see an increase in attendance over the past few years. A few group favorites included: 1. The Mostly True Story of Tanner & Louise by Colleen Oakley Tiffin-Seneca Public Library encourages patrons to seek out the perfect book all year long. With a wide range of resources available, we are happy to assist patrons in finding their next read. Our New Book section is brimming with a variety of carefully selected titles, as well as displays of hand-selected titles that change monthly. Thanks to a generous donation from our Friends of the Library group, patrons can take home a free copy of BookPage each month, which contains reviews of the best new books across all genres. With a wide range of literary options, we are certain every patron will find a book to devour.
