BOYS JV BASKETBALL: Perkins beat Columbian 68-31. For TC, Jax Diamantopoulos had 10 points. BOYS FRESHMAN BASKETBALL: Perkins upended Columbian 51-26. DaZarias Russell had 11 points for the Tornadoes. GIRLS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Calvert's eighth grade bested Lakota 27-8 as Kaylee Kramer dropped in seven points for the Senecas. Rachel Spaun and Story Lee each chipped in five and Gentry Gillett and Audrey Sheets both had four.Lakota's seventh grade topped Calvert 20-17. For Calvert, Sidney Persohn popped in nine points, while Emma Grabert added six.New Riegel's eighth grade dropped Hopewell-Loudon 31-16 as Ava Jakubcin-Theis had 11 points for NR. It also got 10 points from Emi Osborne and six from Camdyn Bouillon. H-L's Kenna Holcomb, Emery Siebenaller and Madeline Lust all had four points.Hopewell-Loudon's seventh grade handled New Riegel 31-7. For NR, Addy Dailey scored four points.Tiffin's seventh grade defeated Perkins 48-10 Wednesday and losing a close one to Clyde 26-23 Tuesday. The eighth grade beat Clyde 36-31 and then upset Perkins 41-35. Over the last two games, Tiffin's Kami Beaston had 23 points, while Caroline Newlove chipped in 20, Madi Shriver had 34 points, Layla Green had 14 points, Mya Shriver poured in 31 points, Brynn Moyer had six points, Quinn Geretz-Boone and Audrey Sharp both ended with five points. BOYS BASKETBALL: Fostoria routed Rossford 59-27 in NBC play Tuesday night. Anthony Armstrong (6 rebounds, 4 steals) and Julius Smith (5 assists) each led Fostoria (9-8) with 13 points, while Traivon Cousin and Taevyn Talley each ended with nine points. Lance Miller finished with eight points and six boards. YOUTH SOCCER: The Carey Soccer Club sign-ups will be Feb. 22 and March 1 at 9-11 a.m. at the basement floor of Dorcas Carey Public Library. It's for age 3 to grade 8 (must be 3 by March 30). Practices begin March 30 with Saturday games from April 12 to May 17. The Club is also looking for volunteer coaches. The registration fee is $25.
