Redmen head to district tourney

FOSTORIA — Alycia Middlebrooks led all scorers Thursday as Fostoria held off Eastwood 57-50 in a Division V sectional final.Middlebrooks tossed in 21 points and added three steals to fuel the Redmen (13-10).Fostoria advances to Wednesday's 6 p.m. district semifinal at Lakota against Lake.Amijah Poole backed Middlebrooks with 11 points, Kamari Johnson tallied eight points and five rebounds, Lyrique Johnson added seven points and 12 boards and Alijah Williams scored six points.Jordan Jensen keyed the Eagles with 17 points, Piper Sutton and Kyrie Henley each turned in eight, Mallory Sandberg scored seven and Ava Kachmanick had six. Fliers hold off Rams, advanceUPPER SANDUSKY – With things tied at 34 after three quarters Thursday in a Division IV sectional final, Clyde did just enough to get by Upper Sandusky, 52-48.With the win, the Fliers advance to take on Shelby Wednesday at Bucyrus at 7:30 p.m. Katie Shiets paced the Fliers with 16 points, while Taitum Jeffrey added 11 and Kenzlie Guhn ended with eight.Upper Sandusky's Grace Walton led everyone with 23 points. It also got 12 points from Addy Newman. The Rams finished the season 14-9.
