VAN BUREN — Mohawk used three individual titles and two seconds as the springboard to a runner-up finish Saturday at the Division III sectional tournament.Bluffton held off the Warriors 175 1/2-166 for the team crown. Carey claimed fourth (132), Hopewell-Loudon ended 12th (59 1/2), Calvert took 13th (40 1/2) and New Riegel wound up 15th (25).Brant Kirian, Kaden Bish and Braylan Mullholand each captured an individual championship for Mohawk.Kirian scored a 10-0 major decision against Columbus Grove 138-pounder Boat Thompson, Bish earned a 15-0 technical fall against Liberty-Benton 175-pounder Colin Bates and Mullholand beat Hopewell-Loudon 215-pounder Wyatt Crow 7-3.Runner-up finishes for the Warriors came from 144-pounder Liam Pursell and 157-pounder Troy Johnson.Elmwood's Peyton Schafer pinned Pursell (2:54), and Hopewell-Loudon's Isaiah Hook upended Johnson 4-2.Owen Patrizi added a third at 132 pounds and Lance Frankart took fourth at 165 pounds to give Mohawk a total of seven district qualifiers. Bellevue bullies its way to sectional titleCLYDE — Five Bellevue grapplers earned titles, two claimed second and three more earned district berths Saturday en route to the Redmen rolling to the Division II sectional tournament championship.Bellevue stormed past Clyde 246-148 for the crown in the 12-team tournament. Lewis, Shepard go 1-2 for RamsGALION — Ethan Lewis won a title and Braylon Shepard took second Saturday to key Upper Sandusky at the Division II sectional tournament.Lewis doubled up Norwalk's Gavin Lepley 8-4 for the 157-pound championship for the Rams.Marco Muratori of Sandusky Perkins pinned Shepard (2:36) in the 106-pound title bout.Graham Wolf and Abraham Baldwin each added a fourth for Upper Sandusky.Rajon Randleman of Perkins upended Wolf 8-6 at 113 pounds, and Clear Fork's Sloan McGhee pinned Baldwin (1:32) at 126 pounds.The top four in each weight class advanced to the district.Perkins downed Clear Fork 217-195 for the sectional title. Upper Sandusky wound up ninth (68).
