TC girls bow out at district

PORT CLINTON — Columbian's season came to an end Thursday at the Division I district girls bowling tournament, finishing eighth with a pin total of 2,721Wapakoneta turned back Celina 3,635-3,601 for the team title.The top two teams and top two competitors not on those teams qualified for the state tournament.The individual state berths went to overall individual champion Reagan Horine of Van Wert with a 665 series (202, 245, 218) and Sandusky's Jady Voegle, third overall, with a 625 (246, 210, 169).Columbian ended the first round with a 1,903 score after games of 658, 577 and 668.Lucy Weidner paced the Tornadoes with a three-game series of 480 (147, 146, 187), Cassidy Shane tallied a 407 (128, 106, 173) and Miriah Distel had a 365 (141, 113, 111).Columbian got a two-game score of 237 from Briana Pryor (129, 108), and one-game totals of 113 from Brooklyn Edler, 104 from Angela Nominee and 93 from Kathy Forney to go with a one-game team score of 104.The Tornadoes then registered baker game scores of 115, 135, 169, 126, 151 and 122. St. Paul bounces BucksSHELBY — Norwalk St. Paul jumped out 19-2 in the first quarter and rolled from there Thursday in a 68-35 Division VII district semifinal win against Buckeye Central.Grant Kuhnle led the Flyers (18-5) with 18 points, Korey Frazee and Landon Fries both scored 10 and Brock Houck had nine.The Bucks (8-16) got 18 points from Hunter Caudill, and five each from Jack Phillips and Matthew Heefner.
