New Reigel athletics joins N10 conference

NEW RIEGEL — The New Riegel Board of Education heard from district athletic director Jamie Lininger about the athletic department and an invitation to join the N10 athletic conference at its regular meeting Wednesday. The board later approved a resolution allowing the athletic department to join the Northern 10 athletic conference. According to the resolution, the transition will take place in the 2026-2027 school year and "presents an opportunity to foster strong relationships with current member schools while ensuring continued growth and success for our athletic programs." Also at the meeting, treasurer Brad Radison informed the board the district received the annual payment from T-Mobile for the rights to air space over the district. The board then approved a motion to transfer $12,100 from the general fund to the principal's fund for the annual T-Mobile communications payment. The board later approved 41 bylaws and policies including new policies about the use of artificial intelligence and the protections of individual beliefs and ideas. Also approved at the meeting was: A resolution adopting the special education model policy and procedures released by the Ohio Department of Education in 2024. The approval of two fundraisers for the 2024-2025 school year including one for Jacket Leadership and another for the Language Club. College Credit Plus programs from Bowling Green State University, Heidelberg University and Owens Community College for the 2025-2026 school year. A motion to non-renew all fall and winter sports supplemental contracts The retirement of transportation supervisor, Mark Theis, effective June 30. The approval of Cindy Hoepf as varsity volleyball coach, Trey Yates as varsity golf coach and Dave Losey as athletic director for the 2025-2026 school year. The board adjourned to executive session to discuss collective bargaining and personnel. No action was taken.
