Jones perfect in SBC River opener

LAKESIDE – With the weather changing teams and venues for New Riegel, senior pitcher Shane Jones didn't seem to mind that much Thursday night. Instead of facing Van Buren at home, the Blue Jackets took a trip to SBC River foe Danbury and Jones faced 21 hitters and set all of them down as he twirled a perfect game with 12 strikeouts. New Riegel won 9-0.He helped himself at the plate also. Jones tripled, singled, drove in a run and scored two runs. NR (1-1, 1-0) also got two singles and two RBIs from Carter Clouse, a single and two runs scored from Carson Pahl, a single and an RBI by Brighton Coffin, Grady Faeth drove in a run and Gabe Pugh, Blake Moes and Brayden Schalk all scored a run. Clouse, Warriors blank EaglesSYCAMORE — Three Mohawk batters each drove in two runs and Andon Clouse kept Colonel Crawford's hitters in check Thursday as the unbeaten Warriors cruised to a 10-0 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win.Hunter Haynes ended 3 for 3 and scored twice to go with his two RBIs for Mohawk (5-0, 2-0 N10).Owen Patrizi and Lance Frankart also each drove in two runs.
