CASA of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties would like to extend our endless gratitude to everyone who helped to make our 30th Annual Stars Dancing for CASA fundraiser a record-breaking night! This event raised a grand total of $50,363.49! Funds raised from this event will be used to support volunteer recruitment, training and supervision. Our CASA volunteers are highly trained, committed individuals who are advocates for children who are victims of abuse and neglect. Our appreciation extends to The Ballroom Company (instructors Gil Aromas, Dave Ludlow, Heather Ward, and Michael Bulger) and the Fremont Ballet School (instructors Liv Lang and Claire Hartman). Instructors were paired with one of our local celebrity dancers, who were Jessica Drenning: OhioSTART Caseworker at Sandusky County DJFS, Shelley Hoppes: Owner-Operator of Shellukes Bar & Grill, Adam Miller: Physical Educator at Bishop Hoffman Catholic School and cross country and track coach at SJCC, Crystal Laird: Events and Marketing Coordinator at Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce, and Beth Tischler: Sandusky County Prosecutor. This year, Shelley Hoppes was the People's Choice winner, who gathered 20,706 votes, both in dollars and seat credits! Followed by Beth Tischler (5,060), Adam Miller (4,699.19), Jessica Drenning (3,184.30), and Crystal Laird (2,702). The Judge's Choice went to Adam Miller and his instructor, Heather Ward, who danced a school dance medley to "Mambo" from West Side Story, "Hand Jive" from Grease and "Footloose." Congratulations to all our winners and participants! The evening's entertainment was assisted by our phenomenal judges and witty emcees. The judges were Michelle Farmer, Samantha Pollick, and Nicole Nieves and our emcees were Andy Taylor and Tony Taylor. We also want to thank our event sponsors and donors, and immeasurable thanks to the additional supporters who dedicated their time and made donations in order to make this a successful evening of entertainment.
