Tornadoes blow by Norwalk in SBC dual

The Columbian boys track and field team won 11 events, including all four relays Tuesday in an 89-48 dual win over visiting Norwalk.The four relay wins included the 4x8 (9:08.15) squad of Jack Newlove, Noah Townsend, Blake Hossler and Owen Hoyda, the 4x2 (1:34.96) team of DaShawn Russell, Neven Neuman, Ryan Hook and Mason Burkett, the 4x1 (44:34) team of Ryan Hook, Newlove, Xavier Matthewson and Burkett and the 4x4 (3:37.3) squad of Russell, Newlove, Xavier Melick and Hayden Miller.Individual wins came from Matthewson in the 100 hurdles (15.0), Ethan Reynolds in the shot put (51-11 ¾), Townsend in the 1,600 (4:55), Newlove in the 300 hurdles (38.63), Brady Bonnell in the long jump (19-3 ½), Melick in the 800 (2:05) and Joaquin Perez in the 3,200 (11:01).Burkett was runner-up in the 100 (11.37), while Melick was second in the 1,600 (4:59), Matthewson was runner-up in the 300 hurdles (42.09), Russell was second in the 400 (51.72), Draven Steele was runner-up in the discus (121-9), Owen Hickey was second in the high jump (5-10), Odell Dickerson was second in the pole vault, Neuman was runner-up in the 200 (24.13) and Hoyda was second in the 3,200 (11:05). Raiders roll in SBC quadBASCOM — Lakota's boys swept the relays and had three athletes each win two individual events Tuesday en route to dominating a Sandusky Bay Conference River Division quadrangular.The Raiders cruised past host Hopewell-Loudon 111-68 1/2, with New Riegel holding off Fremont St. Joe 39 1/2-32 for third.Avery Shilling ran on three winning relays for Lakota, taking part in the 4x800 (8:49.4), 4x200 (1:35.47) and 4x400 (3:46.8).Brady Tyson joined him on all three relays. Donovan Statham helped out on the 4x800 and 4x400. Chieftains Cook up winBASCOM — Savanna Cook won two events and led off a winning relay Tuesday to fuel Hopewell-Loudon's girls in a Sandusky Bay Conference River Division quadrangular victory.The Chieftains upended Lakota 92-76. Dawson sparks Tigers in dualATTICA — Levi Dawson figured in four wins Tuesday to push Seneca East's boys past Carey 67-61 in a dual.Dawson claimed the 400 (56.5) and helped the Tigers take the 4x800 (10:01.56), 4x200 (1:41.72) and 4x400 (3:55.82).Wes Barney joined him on the 4x800 and 4x400. Jackson Gayheart ran legs on the 4x200 and 4x400. Francisco Lantz and Easton Voorhees filled out the 4x800. Hunter Rathburn and Braylon Depinet rounded out the 4x200. Elaina Post, Elysa Holsinger, Bella Phoenix and Grier Blankemeyer competed in the 4x200.
