SYCAMORE – Mohawk started well with a 4-1 lead against Ontario Thursday. But then Ontario wouldn't stop scoring runs, eventually leading to a four-run top of the seventh. In the end, Ontario walked away with a 7-5 win, handing Mohawk its second straight loss and third loss this week.Mohawk (13-3) out-hit Ontario 10-6 as Aubrey Gottfried lined four singles and drove in a pair of runs, while Averie Barth, Mallory Brickner and Anna Russell (RBI) all doubled and Emily Brickner singled and drove in a run.Gottfried took the loss in the circle. She allowed seven runs on six hits in all seven innings. She fanned five and walked five on 119 pitches. Buckettes trounce WildcatsNEW WASHINGTON – Buckeye Central made quick work of Vanlue Thursday in a 17-3 rout.BC (11-3) registered 10 hits as Grace Collene tripled, singled twice and drove in three runs to lead the Buckettes. They also got two singles and an RBI from Phoebe Rafferty, a single and two RBIs by Savannah Pace, a single and an RBI from Zoey Hoskins, Aleyse Siefert and Cierra Schneider, two RBIs by Olivia Bishop and an RBI from Leah Fields.Collene picked up the win in the circle in her 3 2/3 innings of relief, fanning seven and not allowing a single hit. Clyde blanks BellevueCLYDE – Taitum Jeffrey was in total control in the circle for Clyde Thursday in a 10-0 SBC Lake win over rival Bellevue. Jeffrey went all six innings, giving up just four hits, while striking out nine and issuing a single walk.At the plate for the Fliers (15-5, 7-0 SBC Lake), Ember Andres and Kennedi Long both had two doubles, Ariah Farrar and Mya Stiefel each tallied two hits, including a double, Ella Howey slapped a double and Jeffrey ended with a single.For Bellevue (4-13, 1-6), Taylor Waldrup, Easter, Ariana Holzhauer and Ava Meyer all singled.Holzhauer took the loss, giving up seven runs on three hits in three innings. Roberson's 1-hitter fuels BCNEW WASHINGTON – After getting swept by rival Seneca East earlier this week, Buckeye Central stepped out of N10 play Thursday to get some confidence back.Freshman Jeremiah Roberson twirled a one-hit shutout of Vanlue in a 10-0 win.Roberson had eight strikeouts and five walks in his five innings on the hill.At the plate, Dylan Heydinger lined two singles and drove in two runs for BC (9-7), while Lance Cole added two singles and an RBI, Tye Craft singled and drove in a pair of runs, Hunter Caudill doubled and drove in a run, Roberson and Blaise Metzger each singled and drove in a run and Cayden Jarvis doubled. Fliers win in extrasCLYDE – A night after losing a heart-breaker to Norwalk in 11 innings, Clyde played another extra-inning game Thursday night. However, this time the Fliers were victorious with a 9-8 win over Elyria Catholic.Clyde (6-10) produced 17 hits as Adam Young tripled, singled twice and drove in two runs, while Brown doubled, singled twice and drove in a run, Jonathan Lantz (2B), Gavyn Boggs (RBI) and Kam Shortridge (2B) all had two hits, Mason Flewelling doubled and drove in two runs and Josh Swartz doubled and drove in a run.Boggs was the winning pitcher. He pitched two innings of relief. Lantz started and went the first seven frames, allowing seven runs (three earned) on 11 hits.
