Art in the Park returns

TIFFIN — Members of the Seneca County Opportunity Center and ACT Council were happy to welcome the return of their Art in the Park event on Thursday, now in its 4th consecutive year. Students from Calvert High School and members of the council volunteered for the event, helping participants create different kinds of paintings and art projects. One of the volunteers, Emma Collins, is a senior at Calvert High School who has participated in the event for several years now. "Working with the people and doing the different crafts, it just was always very inspiring to me," she said. Collins was so inspired by the event that she created an art piece that is displayed inside of the opportunity center as a senior capstone project. Joe Moore, an ACT council board member, said that for him the event is about watching individuals come and try different activities out. Moore noted he is very thankful for the support the community gives the Opportunity Center. "Community support is a big part of what we rely on, so we are always thankful for people coming out and supporting the events," he said.
