Justin Heilman tosses perfect game, Rams clinch 3rd straight N10 title

NEW WASHINGTON – Upper Sandusky just needed a win at Buckeye Central Monday to clinch at least a share of another N10 title. It certainly did that ... and then some.Justin Heilman tossed a perfect game as the Rams demolished the Bucks 14-0 to finish as N10 champs. They could win it outright with any Mohawk loss as both have two losses in the league. The Warriors still have a game with BC and Wynford to finish up the league slate.Upper Sandusky led 2-0 after one and then upped that to 10-0 after just two innings.Heilman struck out seven in his five perfect frames.At the plate, the Rams (14-3, 12-2 N10) only tallied five hits, but took advantage of 13 BC walks and two errors. David Gibson paced the Rams with a pair of singled and three RBIs, while Josh Heilman and Jonathan Craig both singled and drove in a run and Kasen Gottfried, Kaleb Francis and Justin Heilman all drove in a run.Jeremiah Fishpaw took the loss for the Bucks (10-10, 3-8). Mohawk mows down Tigers 13-1SYCAMORE – Mohawk needs to keep winning to have a chance at a share of the N10 title. A four-run first inning got the Warriors going in a 13-1 league win over Seneca East.Mohawk tallied only six hits, but took advantage of eight SE walks and two errors.Andon Clouse and Braylan Mullholand both singled twice and drove in three runs for the Warriors (17-3, 10-2 N10). They also got a double and an RBI from Ben Bogner, a single and an RBI by Owen Patrizi and RBIs from Hunter Haynes, Kaleb Bish and Elias Magallanes.SE (10-12, 6-8) tallied only two hits off of Haynes. Braydon Robinson and Colton Ehresman each singled.Haynes went five innings on the hill, allowing an unearned run on two hits with four punchouts. He bested Brady Bloom, who gave up 13 runs on six hits in three innings. Kern's 5 RBIs fuel RaidersSANDUSKY – Both teams scored in the same inning Monday, but Lakota tallied more runs in a 6-3 SBC River win at Sandusky St. Mary.Brady Kern doubled, singled and drove in five runs for the Raiders (10-8, 8-6 SBC River), while Grant Bomer added a pair of singles and Aaron Gosche finished with a single and an RBI.Kern also was the winning pitcher, going four innings. He allowed three runs on five hits. Grant Scherger tossed three scoreless innings to end it. Blue Jackets blast St. JoeFREMONT – New Riegel leadoff hitter Shane Jones set the tone Monday with a solo shot as the Blue Jackets routed Fremont St. Joe 12-0 in SBC River play.Jones ended with two hits and three RBIs for New Riegel (11-9, 8-6), while Alec Hohman added two singles and also drove in three runs, Gabe Pugh singled and drove in two runs, Carter Clouse and Clayton Gabel each singled and drove in a run, Quin Allison doubled and Sam Clouse and Carson Pahl both singled.Brayden Schalk picked up the pitching victory as he was perfect through four frames. He finished with a one-hitter with six strikeouts and only one walk. Chieftains crush WildcatsELMORE – After tallying just one run Saturday against Mohawk, the bats woke up Monday with 17 hits as Hopewell-Loudon routed Woodmore 11-3 in SBC River play.Jack Colatruglio led the onslaught with four singles and an RBI, while Thomas Daniel doubled, singled twice and drove in three runs, Brayden Brickman (2B), Cohen Sendelbach (2 RBI) and Kellen Frankart (3 RBI) all added two singles and Austin Smith finished with a single and an RBI.Smith went all seven innings on the hill for the Chieftains (16-5, 12-3 SBC River). He gave up three runs on four hits, while punching out five and walking a pair on exactly 100 pitches.
