Local brewery to celebrate 6 years

FOSTORIA — The UrbanWoody Brewery is celebrating its sixth anniversary this Saturday. Opened in 2019 by Tiffani and Mike Aurand, The UrbanWoody has become a familiar gathering place in the city's revitalized downtown. Known for its rotating lineup of house-made beers and wines from its sister brand, The HoneyBee Winery, the brewery also expanded its offerings in early 2024 to include a food menu and monthly steak nights. The HoneyBee Winery, also owned by the Aurands, opened in 2022 as Seneca County's first winery. Beyond food and drink, the space has played host to a wide range of events—from summer concerts and Oktoberfest to collaborative efforts like the recent Boozy Book Fair with Pan Yan Bookstore. Its role as a gathering spot has helped cement its place in the community over the past six years. A key part of that connection has been the #FostoriaProud hashtag, created by Tiffani as a way to highlight local progress and identity. "We started the hashtag as a way to shine a light on all the great things happening in our city," said Tiffani. "It's become more than a hashtag—it's a movement that's brought people together and amplified what makes Fostoria special." The celebration will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at 105 E.
