Lakota leads SBC River Division after Day 1

GIBSONBURG — Lakota won the 4x800 and picked up a pair of runner-up finishes in the field events Tuesday to end the first day of the Sandusky Bay Conference Championships atop the River Division standings.The Raiders lead Hopewell-Loudon 40-32 with four events scored. TC's 4x8 (10:19.01) relay team of Leah Weingart, Blonde, Emma Musgrave and Abbie Felskie was runner-up, Alexa Gibson was second in the discus (127-0). Owen Hickey was runner-up in the high jump (6-0), while Noah Townsend was third in the 3,200 (10:37.68) and Owen Hoyda was fourth in the 3,200 (10:38.94) and Odell Dickerson came in fourth in the pole vault (10-0). The 4x8 (8:59.95) relay team of Xavier Melick, Blake Hossler, Marcelino Gallardo and Joaquin Perez took fifth, Zach Shawberry was sixth in the high jump (5-8) and Draven Steele finished eighth in the discus (124-10).Clyde's Cayden Perkins won the high jump, clearing the bar height of 6-2. He also was third in the long jump (20-4 ½), while the 4x8 (8:36.81) relay squad of Bryson Patynko, Dane Aldrich, Eli Pumphrey and Hayden Rex took third, Patynko was sixth in the long jump (18-7 ½), Kaidence Cooksey took sixth in the discus (127-2), Dominic Abbulone was sixth in the pole vault (9-0), Owen Waugh was right behind him (8-6) and Brady Dukeshire ended eighth in the shot put (41-10 ¼).
