Upper continues to address water complaints

UPPER SANDUSKY — Residents of Upper Sandusky have been reporting a "musty" taste to their tap water as well as an odor they describe as similar to the taste. The city has been looking into the issue for a few weeks. A representative from the city's water treatment plant said the water was "never not potable" and residents should not be concerned about getting sick from the water. While recent cleaning and flushing of utility lines has solved the taste and smell issues for some residents, others are still complaining of a foul taste and odor. The city of Upper Sandusky posted an update on its Facebook page Tuesday, stating the city is continuing to address the issue and conducts regular water testing to confirm water quality is safe to drink. Recent water testing results are available for review on the city's website. The post states city officials were made aware of a nearby municipality with similar concerns. When the city consulted with that municipality, which the city didn't identify in the post, the municipality recommended Upper Sandusky reach out to Fontas Blue, a drinking water consulting firm.
