Hancock County Fishing on the Lake – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at Riverbend Recreation Area, Big Oaks Activity Area, Lakefront Activity Center, 16618 Township Road 208, Findlay. Try your hand at catching fish in Giertz Lake. Learn the basics of fishing, gear, common sport fish species and fish behavior. All skill levels welcome. Poles provided or bring your own. Corn bait available or bring your lucky lure. Participants 16 and older must have a valid Ohio Fishing License. Registration required by 1 p.m. May 27. Little Hands Nature Club: Paint it, Naturally – 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 28 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, Discovery Center Porch, 1400 Oakwoods Avenue, Findlay. Children will create art using natural materials like soil, leaves, bark, and flowers. Wear clothes that can get messy. For ages 3 to 6 with an adult. Siblings welcome. Registration not required. Nature Story Time: A Friend for Bear – 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, Nature Play Area, 1400 Oakwoods Avenue, Findlay. Enjoy a story about Bear and a new tortoise friend, followed by a short hike to the lake. In case of rain, program will be indoors. For ages 4 to 6 with an adult. Siblings welcome. Registration not required. Archery Instruction – Youth – 1 p.m. Friday, May 30 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, Dold Lake, 1400 Oakwoods Avenue, Findlay. Learn the basics of archery with a certified instructor. All equipment and targets provided. For ages 9 to 15 years. Cost is $10 per person. Registration required by 4 p.m. May 29. Amphibian Hike – 6 p.m. Friday, May 30 at Litzenberg Memorial Woods, Gatehouse, 6100 U.S. Route 224, Findlay. Join a naturalist for an evening hike in search of toads, frogs, and salamanders. We'll listen for calls and search under logs. All ages welcome. Registration not required. Crawford County Daughmer Savannah Hike – 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Daughmer Savannah, 786 Marion-Melmore Road, Bucyrus. Tour the rare prairie savannah and search for plants, birds, and wildlife. Discover one of the few remaining remnants of the Sandusky Plains. Registration not required. Viewing the Night Sky – 9 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 State Route 598, Crestline. Join members of the Crawford Park Astronomy Club to view spring constellations and galaxies. Telescopes provided. Visibility depends on weather. Registration not required. Girl Scouts: Tree Promise – 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 State Route 598, Crestline. For all levels of Girl Scouts.
