BASCOM – Seneca East didn't make anything easy for Hopewell-Loudon Friday night in a Division VI sectional final.The Tigers led 2-0 after the first inning and then still lead 5-3 after four frames. But the Chieftains tallied a run in the fourth and tacked on a big four-run fifth to grab the win.The Chieftains (20-6) will now head to Findlay to take on Elmwood Wednesday at 4:30 at the Marathon Diamonds.H-L was out-hit 10-5 Friday as Matt Wyman and Braylon Martinez each doubled and drove in a run, while Thomas Daniel singled and drove in a run, Austin Smith doubled and Jack Colatruglio drove in a run.For SE (11-15), Nicholas Parks doubled, singled and drove in a run, Deacon Lacy lined a pair of singles, Gunner Polachek doubled and drove in a run and Brady Bloom and Luke Mason both singled and drove in a run.Kellen Frankart picked up the win on the hill, allowing six runs on 10 hits in six innings. Jones pitched a complete game, allowing just two unearned runs on two hits with 17 strikeouts and two walks in a 10-2 win.At the plate, Jones walked four times, scored a run and drove in a run, while Sam Clouse singled and drove in a run, Gabe Pugh singled and scored two runs, Quinn Allison walked three times and scored twice and Brighton Coffin and Alec Hohman each singled.New Riegel (14-10) will now travel to Findlay Thursday to play the winner of Arlington and Arcadia. Blue Jackets win going awayKENTON — Karsyn Piper kept Hardin Northern's bats in check and Maddie Heilman sparked the offense Friday in New Riegel's 11-1 Division VII district semifinal win.Piper struck out 15 and scattered four hits, two walks an unearned run to get the win.New Riegel (16-4) advances to today's 1 p.m. final against the winner of the Mohawk versus Arcadia game.The Blue Jackets won Thursday in six innings, but it took a while to get there.New Riegel grabbed a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but the Polar Bears (16-7) scored their unearned run in the third to keep it close.However, the Blue Jackets kept Hardin Northern scoreless from there while plating three runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and three in the sixth to pull away.Heilman smacked a homer, singled, scored twice and knocked in four runs.Jacqui Tiell added a double, single, run and RBI, Ruthann Baughman went 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI and Alex Mathias had a single and two RBIs.Claire Schalk added a single, run and RBI, Ashlyn Bouillon scored twice, and Lilly Schalk, Lacey Schalk and Ava Wensink each scored.Morgan Stewart took the loss for Hardin Northern.Heidi Trachsel went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Kailtyn Whitaker ended 2 for 2 with a run. Gottfried strong again, Warriors advanceKENTON – It will be a rematch of the first game of the season today as Mohawk powered past Arcadia Friday night in a Division VII district semifinal in Kenton. With the win, the Warriors (21-5) will take on New Riegel (21-4) in a district final today back at Kenton at 1 p.m. Mohawk edged New Riegel 5-2 back on March 25th.After two scoreless innings to begin things Friday, the Warriors recorded back-to-back three-run innings to get going.At the plate, Allison Russell smacked two singles, while Aubrey Gottfried singled and drove in a pair of runs and Mallory Brickner and Katie Woodland both singled and drove in a run. Bulldogs' offense too much for Blue DevilsLIMA – Ada scored at least one run in five of the six innings it batted Friday night in a 6-3 Division VI district final win over Carey at Lima Bath.Ada scored single runs in the first four innings to gain a 4-3 edge before tacking on two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.For Carey (7-17), McKenna Stoner doubled and drove in three runs. It also got singles from Autumn Bouillon, Raigan Kessler, Tylinn Stoll, Garnyr McKelvey and Bayah Harsanje. Stoll suffered the loss, giving up six runs on 12 hits in six innings. Royals blast Buckettes 11-0SHELBY – Wynford set the tone early and didn't let up in an 11-0 shutout of Buckeye Central in a Division VI district final at Shelby.The Royals (14-9) jumped out to a 9-0 lead after just three innings. BC (17-6) couldn't get the offense going as Savanah Pace tripled and doubled and Grace Collene lined a pair of singles.Collene took the loss in the circle, allowing 11 runs on 12 hits in seven innings of work. She also fanned 12 and walked six on 163 pitches.
