Tiffin-Seneca Library Summer Reading Program The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will celebrate the 2025 Summer Reading Program beginning Monday, June 2, through Thursday, July 31, with reading challenges and special events for all ages. This year's theme, Color Our World, celebrates the myriad ways in which art and creativity enrich our lives. The program is designed to inspire and engage readers of all ages through a diverse array of artistic expressions. The Rubber Ducky Club (for babies aged birth to 35 months) features early literacy reading activity suggestions (vocabulary, print awareness, letter knowledge, phonological awareness, print motivation and narrative skills) that encourage parents to read to their baby. Completing 60 activities will earn a prize. Pick up the Rubber Ducky Club reading log at the Youth Services Desk. Kids age 3 through entering fifth grade are encouraged to read in 20-minute increments this summer with a goal of 1,000 minutes. Fill in a circle on the reading log for every 20 minutes read, and earn a prize entry for every 10 circles colored in. Additional prize entries can be earned by completing fun activities such as attending a library program or taking a walk outside. Pick up the youth reading log and a free book at sign-up at the Youth Services Desk. For teens entering grades six through twelve, color in a spot on the paint palette for every day spent reading, no matter how long. Filling in five whole paint palettes will earn a prize entry, and filling in the remaining five will earn another prize entry. Earn additional prize entries by reading a book with a cover that is a color on the rainbow. Five lucky teens will win a $50 Wal-Mart gift card. Pick up the teen reading log and a free book at sign-up at the Information Desk. For adults, every book (or five magazines) read this summer will earn a prize entry. Prizes include a tablet (sponsored by Dell Burtis Law), a glassblowing experience from The Poignon Project, and gift cards donated by generous local businesses. Also, play Bookopoly this summer by rolling the dice and completing reading challenges along the gameboard for additional prize entries. Pick up the adult reading log, Bookopoly game board and a free book (donated by the Pan Yan Bookstore) at the Information Desk. The Library's Extension and Outreach Services Department will bring the summer reading program to local nursing homes, assisted living facilities and homebound patrons again this year. For every book read, seniors will be entered to win a prize. Coffee Connections at Mohawk Library The Mohawk Community Library's Coffee Connections program kicks off at 10 a.m. on June 3, 2025, at 200 S. Sycamore Ave., Sycamore. It will take place every Tuesday at 10 a.m. throughout the library's summer reading program from June 2 through July 12. Participants can play games, challenge themselves with puzzles, or express their creativity through coloring activities. Little Free Library up and running at Kiwanis Kiwanis' Little Free Library, which recently was completed and installed at Kiwanis Manor, 7 W. Market St., now is officially open for visitors.
