Warriors fend off Rams 12-8 to win N10 outright

SYCAMORE – It seemed like Mohawk clinched a share of the N10 a while ago because of weather and tournament games kept getting in the way of the final regular-season matchup with Upper Sandusky to fully decide the league title. Well, that was put to rest finally Tuesday night. Mohawk had to hold off a pesky Rams team late, but did in a 12-8 win, securing the outright N10 championship.Emily Brickner was 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and three RBIs for the Warriors (23-5, 12-2 N10), while Katie Woodland added two singles and four RBIs, Trenna Johnson singled twice and drove in a run, Mallory Brickner belted a home run and drove in three runs and Aubrey Gottfried doubled and drove in a run.The Rams (17-7, 9-4) actually out-hit the Warriors 12-11 as Madison Wengerd, Madison Hart (2-2B), Addy Johnson (RBI) and Hope Morris (2 RBI) all produced two hits. Carly Boes added a double and a pair of RBIs, Ava Saull singled and drove in two runs and both Ella Frombaugh and Brooke Montgomery singled.Gottfried picked up the win in the circle, allowing three runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and seven walks in 6 2/3 innings. Emily Brickner got the final out.Frombaugh suffered the loss, giving up six runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings. Flyers soar by BucksNEW WASHINGTON – Norwalk St. Paul did a lot of damage in innings 2-4 Tuesday in a 10-1 win at Buckeye Central.The Flyers led 9-0 after four innings. BC had only three hits as Jeremiah Fishpaw, Lance Cole and Hunter Caudill all singled.Fishpaw suffered the loss, allowing two runs on a single hit in an inning of work. Cole, Tye Craft and Jeremiah Roberson also pitched. H-L topped Old Fort 12-5, while then beating New Riegel 7-5.Against Old Fort, Thomas Daniel went 4 for 5 at the plate with a home run, two doubles and three RBIs for H-L (22-6), while Kellen Frankart doubled, singled twice and drove in four runs, Brayden Brickman added a double and an RBI and Cohen Sendelbach and Jack Colatruglio both drove in a run.Harry King was 3 for 4 at the dish for the Stockaders with three singles.
