Mohawk Library to host kids' craft night Mohawk Community Library will host a kids' craft night at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, offering children in kindergarten and up the opportunity to create vibrant, personalized summer wreaths. The event will be held in conjunction with an adult craft night, allowing both parents and children to participate in age-appropriate activities at the same time. A guardian must remain in the library for the duration of the program. Registration is required by phone or in person at the library and closes Saturday, June 8. Mohawk Library to host summer reading art show Mohawk Community Library invites community members to take part in its Summer Reading Program art show, themed "Color Our World!" Submissions are due by Tuesday, June 11. Artwork will be on display at the library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 14, with winners announced afterward. The show is open to artists of all ages and skill levels. The library aims to create an inclusive, creative space that celebrates the intersection of art and literature. St. Francis to host foot-long fundraiser St. Francis Senior Ministries will host a "Foot Long Fundraiser" in celebration of the Longest Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 18. Proceeds will benefit the St. Francis Senior Ministries Walk to End Alzheimer's team. Arnold Vending donated the chips, and Hempy Water donated the bottles of water. Republic church hosting silent auction at street fair honoring parishioner REPUBLIC — A silent auction honoring the memory of Chuck Daughenbaugh will take place during the Republic Street Fair on June 28, hosted by the Republic Trinity United Methodist Church. Organizers encourage the community to participate and support the event in memory of Daughenbaugh, a beloved member of the church. There are 30–40 items to be auctioned, with proceeds to benefit the church's ongoing efforts to fund its community blessing box, which provides food and essential items to residents in need. The bidding is set to take place from 3-7 p.m. at the Republic American Legion Hall Post 404, located at 112 Washington St., Republic. Winning bidders may pick up their items between 7:30 and 8 p.m. Payment options include cash, check (made payable to Republic Trinity United Methodist Church) or online donation. A donation box will also be available for contributions. Funds raised will go toward the church's building improvement efforts and help restock its blessing box. Lunch on the Lawn series start soon in Fostoria FOSTORIA — Papa Teague, a Northwest Ohio artist who performs a variety of music, will be the first performer in Fostoria's Lunch on the Lawn Series.The event, sponsored by the Fostoria Community Arts Council and the city of Fostoria, is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m., June 11 on the lawn of the municipal building, 213 S. Main St. The series is made possible through a grant from the Henry H. Geary Family Foundation.Fostoria Pizza Palace will be selling food at the June 11 event, though those attending may bring their own. Those attending may take their own seating. A limited number of picnic tables will be available.In the event of rain, the program will be moved to the BANKquet Hall, 125 S. Main St. Meetings • The Tiffin City Schools Board of Education's Policy, Governance and Records Committee will meet at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, at the administration building, 244 S. Monroe St. • The Seneca County Regional Planning Commission at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, in the basement conference room of the RTA building, 109 S Washington St., Suite 2206, Tiffin. This meeting was rescheduled from June 4, 2025, due to a conflict. • Seneca Township trustees will meet at 9 p.m. on June 16 at the township building, at the corner of CR 47 and CR 6, instead of June 9.
