3 Warriors, 2 other locals on all-Ohio teams in D-VII

It was another special season on the softball field for Mohawk as it returned to the state tournament after a 20-year hiatus. But the N10 champions had three players earn all-Ohio honors in Division VII when the teams were released Monday.Sophomore pitcher Aubrey Gottfried was a first-team selection, while sophomore teammates Emily Brickner (infield) and Mallory Brickner (catcher) were both on the second team.New Riegel sophomore pitcher Karsyn Piper was a second-team pick, while Calvert freshman Gracie Miller was honorable mention.In Division IV, Clyde senior right fielder Ella Howey was an honorable mention selection. D-VII NW District: Calvert's Bouillon tabbed COYThird-year Calvert softball coach Leah Bouillon led the Senecas to their first district title since 1988 this season. As a result, the Calvert coach was named the Division VII northwest district coach of the year when the teams were released Monday.Freshman catcher Gracie Miller was named to the first team for the Senecas, while she was joined by Mohawk sophomores Aubrey Gottfried (pitcher), Emily Brickner (infield) and Mallory Brickner (catcher), New Riegel sophomore pitcher Karsyn Piper and Hopewell-Loudon sophomore infielder Araceli Velasquez. The second team consisted of H-L senior outfielder Sidney Brickner, senior infielder AnneMarie Berg and senior infielder Brynn Sendelbach, Calvert junior outfielder Scarlett Faber, freshman pitcher Ava Eilrich, senior pitcher Addison King and senior infielder Alyssa Rishty, Mohawk sophomore infielder Katie Woodland and freshman infielder Blake Miller, New Riegel sophomore infielder Ruthann Baughman and sophomore catcher Maddie Heilman and Old Fort sophomore catcher Abbi Ward.New Riegel sophomore infielder Jacqui Tiell was honorable mention.In Division VI, Lakota junior outfielder Chevelle Rubel was a first-team pick, while Buckeye Central senior pitcher Grace Collene was a second-team selection.In Division IV, Upper Sandusky junior shortstop Madison Hart, Bellevue senior centerfielder Payton Hicks and Clyde seniors Ella Howey (RF) and Kennedi Long (catcher) were all first-team picks, while Upper Sandusky junior second baseman Ava Saull and Clyde sophomore pitcher Taitum Jeffrey were on the second team and Upper Sandusky senior centerfielder Hope Morris and junior pitcher Ella Frombaugh were honorable mention.Columbian freshman outfielder Camryn Haman was an honorable mention selection in Division III.
