Aqua announces water main replacement plan for Tiffin Aqua Ohio plans to replace more than 3,800 linear feet of water main in Tiffin this summer, adding to a previously announced $1.1 million, 1,697-foot replacement project on West Perry Street. The new $1.6 million project is scheduled to begin June 16, weather permitting and finish by the end of September. Affected areas start at the intersection of Hunter St. and Clinton Ave. and continue along Ohio Ave. toward Industrial Ave. Drivers and pedestrians should expect lane closures, parking restrictions, open trenches and construction equipment in the work zone. Crews will be active from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Properties along the route will experience brief water service interruptions; affected customers will be notified in advance. Final lawn restoration is scheduled for fall. Crews will install ductile iron pipe, which is stronger, lighter and more corrosion-resistant than the 110-year-old pipe it replaces, according to a press release from Aqua. The project also includes new service lines for 93 properties, 10 new fire hydrants and 15 valves to isolate sections for future maintenance. Ritz Summer Theatre Camp to present "Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs" More than 50 local students will take the stage at The Ritz Theatre this June as part of the 26th annual Ritz Summer Theatre Camp. This year's production, a musical adaptation of "Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs," will be presented in partnership with the Missoula Children's Theatre. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. June 13 and 20 and 2 p.m. June 14 and 21, at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for students. The Missoula Children's Theatre, the nation's largest touring children's theatre company, brings a set, lights, costumes and direction — but no cast. Local students in grades 1-12 audition and rehearse throughout the week, culminating in two public performances at the end of each weeklong camp session. Each production is a twist on a classic story, featuring music, singing, dancing and original characters. In addition to rehearsals, campers participate in enrichment workshops that encourage creativity, communication and confidence. "Summer theatre camp gives the kids an opportunity to flourish in an environment that is all-inclusive and oftentimes gives them an outlet to explore and become their best unique self," said Michael Strong, executive director of The Ritz. The Ritz Theatre's summer camp has become a tradition for many area children, offering a fun and supportive entry point into the performing arts and a lasting connection to live theatre. Meeting canceled The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties has canceled the Executive Committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 17. The board meeting will take place as planned at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, at the Tiffin Moose Lodge, 1146 N. State Route 53.
