Seven injured in one-vehicle crash

LAKE TWP. — Seven people, including 5 juveniles, were injured in a single-vehicle accident Thursday morning. According to authorities at the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on East Broadway near Keller Road. The investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling northbound on East Broadway when it "failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway at a railroad crossing," then "traveled off the left side of the road, struck the railroad track and overturned twice before coming to a rest," law enforcement said. The operator of the vehicle, Geoffrey Workings, 41, of Detroit, Michigan, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Passenger Twansi Workings, 40, of Detroit, Michigan and 6 juveniles were not wearing seatbelts, according to authorities. Twansi and five juveniles were transported by EMS to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. Lake Township Police Department, Lake Township Fire, Lake Township EMS, Perrysburg Township EMA and North Wood EMS, Pat & Son Towing and CSX all assisted at the scene. "The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to always wear their safety belts and secure all children in the age-appropriate child restraints," the patrol shared. The crash remains under investigation.
