Cooling assistance available through GLCAP Summer Crisis Program Great Lakes Community Action Partnership will offer cooling assistance this summer to eligible residents in Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca and Wood counties. The Summer Crisis Program runs July 1 through Sept. 30, or until funding runs out. To qualify, households must meet income guidelines and have at least one additional condition, such as a resident age 60 or older, a documented medical condition, a utility shut-off or disconnection notice, or a need to establish new electric service. Fostoria Arts Council changes Lunch on the Lawn location Due to the likelihood of rain and high temperatures and humidity, the Fostoria Community Arts Council has moved Wednesday's Lunch on the Lawn from the municipal building to the BANKquet Hall at 125 S. Main St.Ryan Hensley will perform from noon to 1 p.m., and a meal of a chicken sandwich, chips and a drink will be available for $5. Fostoria hospital pharmacy extends hours The retail pharmacy at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital has extended its hours to include 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Saturdays.The pharmacy is also open regularly between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.The hospital is located at 401 Van Buren St. For more information, call 419-435-6560. Wood County deputies to step up patrols over Fourth of July weekend The Wood County Sheriff's Office will increase patrols from Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6 as part of a statewide traffic safety effort. Deputies will focus on violations tied to fatal crashes, including impaired driving, failure to yield and speeding. There will be zero tolerance for driving under the influence and seat belt violations. The increased enforcement is made possible thanks to a grant from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office, according to a release from Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn.
