Siren's Curse to open

Everyone knows Cedar Point is the mecca for roller coasters. The view when guests first pull up to the skyline is always impressive. So the idea of the park coming up with something new and exciting that guests have not experienced before seems a difficult task. This week Cedar Point opens its newest roller coaster, Siren's Curse. The unique concept of this attraction is the tilting mechanism at the top of the lift hill. After guests get into the Vekoma ride vehicles, they climb the 160-foot lift hill and turn overlooking the back of the park. The views are absolutely incredible looking at Iron Dragon and Top Thrill 2 on the right and Lake Erie and the marina on the left. As guests inch closer to the edge, they begin to realize there is no more track. The onboard audio sirens begin to whisper in your ear and you realize this is an incredible new experience at the park. The track then tilts forward 90 degrees and locks into the track below. If you thought the experience on the Top Thrill 2 reverse spike was exhilarating, the Siren's Curse tilt delivers on a weightless experience unlike anything else as guests wait for her to drop you into the abyss. Siren's Curse absolutely delivers in so many ways. The little details from the onboard audio and lighting package give guests a fully encompassing experience. While waiting in the queue, take in all the small details and listen to the audio for small Easter eggs. Look down at your feet and take in the seagull footprints or aged items all around that make you feel like you are in an old shipping yard. Patrick and his daughter Shannon rode Siren's Curse 17 times during the media event and their big takeaway was how re-ridable the attraction is, as the roller coaster provides so many airtime moments and different experiences that really will be a great fit for the park. Siren's Curse opens to the public Saturday, June 28 with a special passholder preview Friday from 2-10 p.m.
