Fostoria school board approves contracts

FOSTORIA — Fostoria City Schools' Board of Education approved several employment contracts during its July meeting this week.Chase Edwards was hired as an intervention specialist, while Justin Depinet, Shawn Earl, Christina Frederick, Tonia Groves, Brette Hartman, Chad Howard, Steve Kauffman, Helaina Krishna, Lisa Markley, Amy Masterson, Sheryl St. Clair and Teresa Vogel were granted extended-service contract days.The board approved a contract with the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center for the provision of a Spanish teacher for the coming school year and a two-year non-teaching limited contract with custodian Carole Bercaw. Advancement on the salary schedule due to additional coursework completed was granted to Lisa Click and Lori Mathia.Supplemental contracts were approved for high school cross country coach Kim Fant-Cousin, high school assistant cross country coach Tracie Papenfus, high school assistant football coaches Jace Boff and Brett Taylor, assistant high school athletic director Aaron Weidner, junior varsity volleyball coach Aspen Betenson, junior high athletic director Brad Bowser, junior high cross country coach Anitra Bolden, junior high football coach and football equipment manager Dustin Miller, junior high volleyball coach Jolie Counts and junior high football coaches Robbie Pina, Robert Scott and Cydell Smith.Cordero Diaz, Skyler Garcia and Maalik Tucker were hired as volunteer assistant high school football coaches.Resignations were accepted from teachers Kelly Donat, Devin Hart and Cole Rumschlag.The board accepted seven donations amounting to a total of about $2,352.Handbooks and course-selection guides for the 2025-26 school year were approved.
