Tiell Financial celebrates 30 years with new Tiffin HQ

BASCOM — Tiell Financial Group is entering its 30th year with a major milestone — opening a new 9,000-square-foot office space at 6250 W. Tiffin St., just down the road from where the firm first started. The two-story building, shaped like a capital T, was designed to accommodate the firm's growing team and provide more meeting space for clients. It's the latest chapter in a homegrown story that began with founder Debi Tiell working out of the trunk of her car in 1995, according to a release from the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce. "We actually have a client whose family has been with Tiell for five generations," Kit Tiell, a partner at the firm, said during the groundbreaking ceremony in April. "Over the years, we've been honored to serve multiple generations of families, and we take great pride in the trust our clients place in us." Tiell Financial began in a small office on the corner of State Route 18 with just two employees and has since grown into a team of more than 10. This is the firm's second move within Bascom — the last being in 2009, when it relocated to a historic home built in 1887. According to the Chamber release, the new headquarters sits on the former site of St. Patrick's Church, a longtime landmark in the community. A piece of original stained glass from the church will be preserved and displayed in the new lobby. The facility will also feature a community room available for use by local nonprofit organizations. Tiell Financial plans to continue traditions such as its Annual Easter Egg Hunt and providing parking for the Memorial Day Parade, the release said. The firm will begin serving clients at the new location in the coming weeks. A ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for 4 p.m. Aug. 29.
