Pop out to Arts in the Park

PORT CLINTON — The Port Clinton Artists' Club recently announced details for the 67th-annual Arts in the Park festival. It's happening Aug. 2-3 at Lakeview Park, 1100 E. Perry St., in Port Clinton. The show runs on that: • Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. • Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's free to attend and open to the public. This year, Arts in the Park goes back to its roots with an exciting new feature: a professionally curated art show under a large exhibition tent. Visitors will experience more than 100 original works of art created by Port Clinton Artists' Club members and invited local art clubs. The artwork will be judged in multiple categories with ribbons awarded to celebrate artistic excellence across the region. Arts in the Park is one of Ohio's longest-running and most beloved summer festivals, drawing several thousand visitors annually. This year's event will feature more than 90 fine arts and decorative arts vendors, including 20-plus new exhibitors joining many of the community's long-time favorites. Attendees can explore a wide range of media: from painting and photography to sculpture, fiber art, jewelry, woodworking and more. A variety of food vendors will be available throughout the weekend, and families can enjoy creative activities at the children's make-and-take tent where young artists can create and take home their own projects. A special fundraiser raffle will also take place during the event, offering chances to win a custom pet portrait by Stephanie Mortus and an original oil painting by Terry Anderson. Proceeds support the Port Clinton Artists' Club's mission of promoting the visual arts and supporting educational monthly art workshops.
