McCutchenville man was Ozzy's assistant

Ozzy Osbourne has been performing for five decades, and a McCutchenville man has accompanied him on stage for many of those years. Dave Moscato, who owns Deceased Vintage with his wife, Bridgett, said he first was met Osbourne in 1996, when he drove for a transportation company that worked with Osbourne. He was hired by Osbourne "to do various jobs," Moscato said, and also babysat Jack and Kelly Osbourne, the son and daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. "That's how I was sucked out into the Ozzy world," he said. Moscato said he often was onstage with Osbourne during rehearsals and shows, acting as the "man behind the chair" to ensure the singer's needs were met while he performed. "I was his on-stage assistant," Moscato said. On July 5, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, Osbourne took the stage for his final performance, entitled "Back to the Beginning." The show was a "thank you and goodbye" performance, he said, and Moscato had the privilege of taking the stage with Osbourne for his own final time. Now, he said, is time "for my new life." "I'll miss it," Moscato said, "but I'm getting older." Moscato said Osbourne always has been "very gracious" to him, and "is just like a normal person." Working with Osbourne, Moscato said, has allowed him "to meet tons of people," and has taken him "all over the world." The two likely will stay in touch as time moves forward, he said. The Birmingham show had an audience of approximately 44,000 people, Moscato said, and raised almost $200 million for charities. Moscato's wife, Bridgett, said "I'm beyond inspired by your remarkable achievements. I love you with all my heart."
