1,000 books before kindergarten

SYCAMORE — Several young readers have recently completed Mohawk Community Library's 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program, marking an important milestone in early literacy development. Bently (age 6) and Jace (age 3) Britton, children of Dylan and Tracey Britton, completed the program on June 30, 2025. Bently began on September 23, 2021, and Jace started on January 20, 2023. Paityn Parker, age 4, daughter of Craig and Ashley Parker, completed the program on July 1, 2025, after starting May 30, 2023. Blakely Grenwalt, age 4, of Nevada, Ohio, daughter of Taylor and Mitchel Grenwalt, completed the program on June 26, 2025. She began on February 27, 2024. Reading with your child is one of the best ways to prepare them for lifelong learning and success.
