Fostoria man faces rape charge

TIFFIN — A Fostoria man was in the Seneca County Jail Wednesday afternoon after having been arrested on a rape charge Monday in connection with an incident involving a 14-year-old girl.Jalin M. Williams, 28, of 632 Wall St., was being held Wednesday on the first-degree felony charge on $250,000 bond, with 10% allowed for release. He was arrested on Monday.Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court records say Williams awakened the juvenile early Monday at an East South Street residence, asked 'Are you going to (expletive) me?' and began pulling her blanket off. Court records say Williams pulled the girl into the bathroom, with her being unable to get away, and he admitted to digitally penetrating her. Records say Williams acknowledged knowing that the subject was a juvenile.Rape is a first-degree felony charge with a maximum possible penalty of 10 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.Williams is scheduled for a preliminary court hearing at 10:30 a.m. July 29.
