Poker Run to benefit FACT

TIFFIN — LoudFest is ready to make some noise, and some money, for local families impacted by cancer. This is the fourth year of the event under current leadership, said organizer Tim Lemmon, with funds being raised for Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment (FACT). Over the last four years, he said, more than $10,000 has been raised for FACT. LoudFest kicks off Friday, Aug. 8, at the Tiffin Eagles, 68 Riverside Drive, with band Whisky Over Water performing from 7-11 p.m., and continues Saturday, Aug. 9. Lemmon said the second day of LoudFest will be comprised of a Poker Run, a car show, and more live entertainment, all hosted at Tiffin Eagles. Registration for the Poker Run begins at 10:30 a.m., he said, and bikes will be "kickstands up" at noon. Stops along the run include Tiffin Eagles, RT30 Harley Davidson, Tavern 19, Bellevue Eagles, and Fostoria Eagles, according to an event flyer. Registration for the Poker Run is $25 per person or $40 per couple, Lemmon said, and includes an event t-shirt. Organizers are hoping for a large number of riders for the run, he said. "One hundred would be spectacular!" Lemmon said. The car show will take place from 1-4 p.m., with American Rust taking the stage from 3-6 p.m. and Tim & Liz Trio performing from 7-11 p.m., he said. Lemmon said a variety of raffle items will be available during LoudFest, including a Fender guitar, tickets to sporting events, tattoo certificates, and more. Past years of LoudFest have welcomed 300-400 guests, Lemmon said, and the event "is getting bigger every year." Lemmon said organizers have been concentrating this year on better networking and event recognition throughout the community. "We're trying to get people to come out," he said. Festivities will take place rain or shine. Lemmon voiced his gratitude to the Eagles for their support of the fundraising effort, and said there are "quite a few" event sponsors. "We have a long list of people to thank," he said.
