Local tanning salon gets new owner

TIFFIN — A familiar local business is under new ownership and getting a fresh look. Lesley Smith, originally from Michigan, recently purchased S & S Tan It ALL, the tanning salon located at 321 Jefferson Street, Tiffin. She and her husband, who work in real estate investment, decided to buy the business after a friend put it up for sale. "We buy and sell real estate, and this really fits some of the goals we were looking into," Smith said. "It just made sense." The couple officially took over three months ago and immediately began updating equipment and amenities inside the salon. New tanning beds, including both lay-down and stand-up models, are being added, along with high-pressure and level 3 tanning options to give clients a wider range of services. "A lot of the comments we've gotten are, 'We used to go there, but...' and it usually ends with how it needed to be updated," she shared. "So we're working on that." While the salon already sees a steady stream of regulars, many coming in ahead of vacations or weddings. Smith hopes to attract a younger crowd in the months ahead. Tan It ALL offers a variety of tanning lotions and skincare products to go along with updated bed technology. Hours are currently Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., with updated hours coming soon to reflect school-year schedules.
