Coach: Joe Cline2024: 3rd in SBC River Notable Returners: Senior Mylie Alt. Juniors Aubrey Cline, Megan Boes, Mallory Rowe. Sophomore Brooke Clouse.Others: Sophomore Avery Hoyer. Freshman Jaclyn Rowe.Outlook: Hopewell-Loudon came on strong at the end of last year, using the conference tournament title as a springboard to third overall in the SBC River Division standings, finishing nine strokes away from a district team berth and having Aubrey Cline wind up two strokes shy of an individual district trip.Coach Cline thinks this year's group of Chieftains can keep that momentum going."We're a small team, but they've all been there, they've kind of seen it. I think we're in a good spot with all the area (SBC River Division) teams," he said. "It's still going to be a competitive balance, a competitive battle."Experience will lead the way, though H-L must replace graduates Maddie Parkins and SBC honorable mention pick Raegan Miller.Aubrey Cline (first team) and Boes (second team) earned all-conference honors last year and top a group of five letterwinners, with Hoyer also back after competing as a junior varsity player last year."There are some decent spots to fill, but I have some experience (back)," coach Cline said. "Last year, both Mylie and Mallory were first-year players. They had never played golf, so to come out and contribute and earn a letter was very good, so I really look to them in this second season to kind of step up."Our goal is to progress. Our goal this year is to get out of sectional. We should have the talent and ability," he said. "If we progress through the next six weeks like we want to, our goal is to get to that district opportunity and have that chance to get to state."
