Blood drives slated in area

In recognition of National Wellness Month, the American Red Cross is offering free A1C testing — a test commonly used to diagnose prediabetes and diabetes — to anyone who donates blood, platelets or plasma during August. Donors will receive their results one to two weeks after their donation, a news release from the Red Cross said. Also, those who donate through Aug. 28 will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice. Details on both offers are available online at www.RedCrossBlood.org/Test.
