County commissioners meet

TIFFIN — Members of the Seneca County Board of Commissioners met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, August 7 to discuss and approve a number of supplemental appropriations. County Administrator Barb Patterson explained each appropriation as follows: • General Fund (0010) Prisoner Medical $2,500.00 - The Sheriff's Office received a $2500 donation specifically asking that it be put towards Prisoner Medical expenses. • General Fund (0010) Supplies $2,073.60 - Juvenile court received a grant from the attorney general's office at a 75/25 ratio, so of a total $2764.80 only $691.20 will come out of pocket. • One Ohio Opioid Settlement Fund (1024) Transfer Out $15,420.21 - Money received in settlement and split between PIVOT court and EMS funding. • PIVOT Fund (1425) Salaries $38,042.31. • Ambulance Service Fund (2064) Training $40,361.50 - This is to pay for an advanced EMT class that Ehove will be doing the training for. According to Patterson, there are approximately 14 students from Seneca County EMS. Patterson also noted the counties application for a TechCred Grant, which would award $2,000 per student or a total of $28,000 in grant funding. • Ambulance Service Fund (2064) Software License/services $4,255.80 - This is for a one-year contract with Zoll, in regards to EMS Charting software. Additionally, several resolutions were adopted at the meeting, including the following: • A resolution authorizing a fund transfer be made to the Children Services Fund in the amount of $300,000 for Child Placement Costs. • A resolution authorizing fund transfers be made from the One Ohio Opioid fund (1024) to the PIVOT fund (1425) in the amount of $10,280.14. • A resolution authorizing fund transfers be made from the One Ohio Opioid fund (1024) to the Ambulance Service fund (2064) in the amount of $5,140.07. • A resolution authorizing the County Administrator, Barb Patterson, to sign for participation in the Purdue Pharma/Sackler National Opioid Settlement Agreement. • A resolution authorizing the County Administrator, Barb Patterson, to sign for participation in the Alvogen, Amneal, Apotex, Hikma, Indivior, Mylan, Sun, and Zydus National Settlement Agreement. During public comment, Pressley Buurma of the OSU Extension shared some information regarding an upcoming event. "So on August 24 from 4-5 p.m. in McCutchenville we will be doing a pasture walk, sponsored by the Seneca County Cattlemen," said Buurma. The free, public event aims to educate young farmers about different types of fencing, grazing measurements, and more.
