FOOTBALL: Lakota defeated Elmwood 40-13. VARSITY VOLLEYBALL: New Riegel upended Lakota 22-25, 25-15, 25-19, 21-25, 15-13 Thursday in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division action. Addison Theis keyed the Blue Jackets with 24 kills, eight digs and three blocks, and Claire Schalk added 24 assists, 24 digs, five kills and four aces. Ava Wensink came up with 27 digs, Lilly Schalk tallied 16 assists, nine kills and eight digs, Karsyn Piper (2 aces, 2 blocks) registered 10 kills and five digs, and Lacey Schalk had eight kills and five digs. VARSITY SOCCER: Bowling Green beat Upper Sandusky 5-3 Thursday, dropping the Rams to 2-1. Caleb Arter scored twice off penalty kicks for Upper Sandusky, and Cooper Roof added a goal. Troy Hoffbauer had 10 saves in goal. JV SOCCER: Upper Sandusky beat Bowling Green 2-1 Thursday. GOLF: Mike Cool and Ron Kurtz lead Terry Traxler and Wayne Traxler 27 1/2-26 atop the standings in the Thursday Night K of C League at Clinton Heights. Prize holes went to Jeff Welty (long putt No. 2), John Arend (closest to pin No. 5), Dave Porter (closest to pin No. 6) and Nate Bryant (long putt No. 9).
