Seneca County Backpackin' Babies: Turtles — 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Clinton Nature Preserve, 400 E. TR-132, Tiffin. For ages birth to 18 months. Babies and caregivers will explore the trails and river bed while looking for turtles. Front packs, backpacks, strollers or walking recommended. Registration required at least 24 hours in advance. Young Adventurers: River Walk — 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 5 at St. John's Mill River Access, 2320 W. CR-6, Tiffin. For ages 5-12. Explore the Sandusky River and discover what lives in and around it. Crawford County Viewing the Night Sky — 8:45 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 30 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 OH-598, Crestline. Summer sky viewing with the Crawford Park Astronomy Club. If weather is cloudy or rainy, program will be held in the Nature Center. Face to Face: Frogs and Toads — 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 OH-598, Crestline. Meet Gray Treefrogs, American Toads, and a Northern Leopard Frog while learning about amphibians' life cycles and habitats. The offices of the Crawford Park District and the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025, in observation of Labor Day. Hancock County Little Hands Nature Club: Caterpillar Crawl — 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, Discovery Center Porch, 1400 Oakwood Ave., Findlay. Ages 3-6 with adult. Activities include tunnel play, games, and a craft. Free, no registration required. Teddy Bear Picnic — 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, Nature Play Area, 1400 Oakwood Ave., Findlay. For grandparents with grandchildren. Picnic games and honey cookies for dessert. Free, no registration required. Pokeberry Ink — 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Litzenberg Memorial Woods, Shelter, 6100 US-224, Findlay. Learn how pokeberries were used to make ink in the 1800s and create your own with quill and berry ink. Ages 8 and up. Free, no registration required. Pollinator Hike — 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4 at Litzenberg Memorial Woods, South Parking Lot, 6100 US-224, Findlay. Guided hike to identify pollinators in the prairie. All ages.
