See You at the Library returns to Tiffin

TIFFIN — A BRAVE Books See You at the Library event is returning to Tiffin Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library. In 2024, Diane Dietz decided to host See You at the Library to ensure it was offered locally, and said "the turnout was really good." At least 30 children attended, she said, and the reaction from families was very positive. As BRAVE has continued to build its brand as a strong resource for children's books, Dietz said "everything fell into place" for her to organize the event for a second year. "It's hard for me to put into words what this means to me," she said. "My goal for hosting a BRAVE Books story hour is to introduce more families to these wonderful children's books that instill moral values, build character and spark imagination," Dietz said. Dietz noted it can be difficult to choose books that align with a family's values, and it can be overwhelming. "Hosting a children's story hour to bring families together for encouragement and support is one thing I can do to assist with this need," she said. According to bravebooks.us, "BRAVE Books is a Christian publishing company that makes books for kids that reinforce biblically-based, foundational values." Dietz said she wants parents to know BRAVE Books exists as an option for reading resources, and hopes the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will decide to include the books its shelves. She said she believes the company is willing to donate books if the library will accept them. Saturday's event begins at 1 p.m. at the library, Deitz said, and will include the Pledge of Allegiance, a prayer, book readings, and maybe a "fun song" to help promote a sense of patriotism and love of country. Returning this year as Brave Hero Guest Reader is Tiffin Police Chief Dave Pauly, and other guest readers include Ben Sandrock and Dominic Frey, Dietz said. Pauly "didn't hesitate" to participate again, she said, and will be reading Brave as a Lion. See You at the Library is free to attend and open to the public, and will last approximately an hour and a half.
