Meeting Notices Members of the Seneca County Law Library Resource Board will meet for a regularly scheduled meeting at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Clover Club in Tiffin. The meeting is open to the public. Hopewell-Loudon announces 2025 Homecoming Court Hopewell-Loudon Local Schools is celebrating Homecoming Spirit Week with activities including parking space painting, dress-up days, powder puff volleyball and football, a bonfire and a pep rally. The homecoming football game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, against Margaretta at Chieftain Stadium. The dance will be Saturday, Oct. 4, at the school, with junior high from 5–7 p.m. and high school from 8–11 p.m. The Class of 2026 selected the senior homecoming court, and students in grades 9–12 will vote this week for king and queen. Winners will be announced during the pregame ceremony Friday night. The 2025 Hopewell-Loudon Homecoming Court includes seniors Emily Arbogast, Anna Bloom, Madison Holcomb and Kara Wyman; and Aiden Ewald, Jack Colatruglio, Luca SanGregory and Mason Reinhart. Junior attendants are Prince Bryson Boyd and Princess Harper Basinger. Handgun Fun Shoot Scheduled for Oct. 11 The Izaak Walton League will host a Handgun Fun Shoot from 9 a.m.-Noon on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the clubhouse and range, 3570 River Rd. (CR-33), Tiffin. The free event is designed for anyone interested in learning about handgun safety and operation in a non-competitive environment. No prior experience is necessary. Each participant will be coached by an experienced shooter, and handguns, ammunition, safety equipment and refreshments will be provided. Attica Lions to Host Community Blood Drive Oct. 9 The Attica Lions Club and Attica Independent Fair Board will host a Red Cross Community Blood Drive from 1–6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Attica Fairgrounds Entertainment Building. Appointments are encouraged and can be scheduled online at redcrossblood.org by using the sponsor code LIONSATTICA or searching the 44807 ZIP code. Walk-ins will also be accepted as time allows. Adelayde Guernsey wins Fostoria Sparkle Stroll Adelayde Guernsey celebrated her 16th birthday by winning Fostoria's inaugural Sparkle Stroll 5K in the area of lakes Lamberjack and Mottram. Guernsey crossed the finish line in 27:36.19 to lead a group of 46 participants in the run/walk, which benefited the Fostoria Glass Pageant and the court's participation in community events. Owen Simmons was the top male finisher, with a time of 29:59.39, narrowly edging out Tom Guernsey (29:59.59). In addition to the entry fees, the pageant received donations from food trucks Rival Q BBQ, which did not charge for food and collected donations only for the pageant, and Grandma Lupe's Lemonade Shake Ups and More.
