100-year-old resident takes flight over Tiffin

TIFFIN — At 100-years-old, Emma Kuhn has seen a variety of things throughout her lifetime — and after this weekend she can proudly say she has seen the city of Tiffin from above. According to Emma, Flying has been a dream of hers since she had first moved into The Willows. Her favorite part of the flight? Spotting her old home in Clinton Mobile Home Park from the sky. When asked what was going through her brain before taking off, Kuhn said she wondered "What all will I be able to see? How high will I go?" Joining her on her flight was Della Lenhart, a lifelong friend of hers, as well as staff members from The Willows and Bryce Riggs of the Seneca County Collective. "It was my first time doing this, and it was such a cool experience," Kuhn said with a smile. "If I ever had the chance to do it again, I would! It was a lot of fun." Heather McDonald, director of sales at The Willows, and one of the staff members joining Emma on her flight, said, "When Emma moved in, she told us that she had done everything she wanted to do in her lifetime … except for getting into a helicopter." The flight was made possible through connections with the Seneca County Collaborative, with McDonald reaching out to President and CEO Bryce Riggs, who connected her with Tiffin University alumnus Bobby Petras. Petras is the President and co-founder of Priority Life Care in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and flew to Tiffin to turn the wish into a reality.
